Betty Louise “Big Mama” Campbell, age 89, died Sunday, Aug. 2, 2015. Her family will receive friends, Wednesday, 8:30-10:30 a.m., at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The graveside service will follow at 11 a.m. in Guy Cemetery, with Brother Jack Porter officiating.
Mrs. Campbell was a member of Sunnyside Church of God and was preceded in death by her husband, William Alton Campbell; her parents, Harvey and Roosevelt Pounders; son, Alton Ray Campbell; and three grandchildren.
She was a lifetime member of the DAVA and was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to work in her garden and care for her children.
She is survived by her son, Bruce Campbell; daughter, Dorothy Reaves Austin; one brother; one sister; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
The family expresses special thanks to Hospice Advantage, especially Velma, Steven, Mimi and Melissa and her sitters, Ann, Dot, Helen and Terry.
