Terrel Ray Smith, age 50, of Muscle Shoals, died Sunday, July 26, 2015. His family will receive friends Wednesday, 5-8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Jeff Abrams and Daniel Rosser officiating. Burial will follow in Glendale Cemetery.
Terrel was a Colbert County native and was a 1983 graduate of Colbert County High School and was employed with Muscle Shoals Utilities in the Water Dept. He was a member of Tuscumbia Church of Christ and Sheffield Masonic Lodge #503. He was current coach of the Muscle Shoals High School Fishing Team and worked with special needs children to teach them fishing. He was the tournament director for Timmy Horton’s High School Bass Angler’s Challenge and was event coordinator for Tim Horton’s fishing for kids. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Charles R. Busby.
Survivors include his wife of twenty-nine years, Kristy Busby Smith, his beloved son, Hughston Waters Smith, parents, Sterlin and Faye Smith, brothers, Greg Smith (Pam), Keith Smith (Kady), Mike Smith (Camille), sister, Pam Roberts (Danny), mother-in-law, Daisy Jean Busby, sister-in-law, Kelly Busby (Mike), several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and a ton of friends.
Honorary pallbearers are Tim Horton and the Muscle Shoals High School Fishing Team.
