James Charles McGown age 64 of Athens, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield, AL. Mr. McGown was born November 26, 1950 to George McGown and Shirley Lobdell McGown.
Graveside services will be Saturday, July 25, 2015 2:30 p.m. at Bottoms Cemetery with Doug Colwell officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home.
Preceded in death by his father, George McGown; four sisters, Tammie Hutchinson, Patricia McGown, Cheryl McGown and Vickie McGown.
Survived by one son, Chris McGown or Adrian, MI; two daughters, Michelle Gilbert of Tecumseh, MI and Jamie Cassell and husband, Joe of Manitau Beach, MI
9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; mother, Shirley Siniard of Athens; brother, George McGown of Athens; sister, Debra Meredith of Athens; half-sister, Amy Roberts of Adrian, MI; several great-nieces and nephews.
