Vaneesa Lynn Warren Turner, 48, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Decatur on July 13, 2015.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Parkway Funeral Home in Trinity.
She graduated from Lawrence County High School, Moulton; attended Calhoun Community College and the University of North Alabama; received her Bachelor’s in Elementary Education with a middle school endorsement; taught Science at East Lawrence Middle School, Trinity. She received her Master’s in Library Science from the University of Alabama, in Birmingham, worked as a librarian at Davis Hills Middle School and Highlands Elementary School, Huntsville.
She was a member of Central Church of Christ in Athens.
She is survived by her husband, Johnny Turner; two sons, Andrew Thompson (Joy), of Columbus, Georgia, and James Thompson, of Decatur; her mother, Kathleen Warren, of Moulton; one brother, Phillip Warren (Susan), of Moulton; and one sister, Selena Jackson, of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Several nephews, niece, great-nephews and nieces also survive.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lawrence County Public Library Moulton.
