There is a major outage across our service area, we are working to restore power. Due to the storm At&t and Verizon are having difficulty with their grid also. Please be aware that there are many down power lines, please treat any lines as if they are live.
COLBERT COUNTY EMA:
Major power outages and storm damage across county. Crews working hard to clear roads.
ATHENS UTILITIES: Athens Utilities crews are working to restore power to multiple storm related outages scattered across the county. There are approximately 1700 customers without power at this time.
Florence police warning residents of downed trees in the northern portions of the city. Police were also called to the area of Robin Hood Drive and Milford Street to assist a couple trapped inside a house that was severely damaged by a fallen tree.
Cullman County emergency management say one man was killed after being struck by a falling tree Tuesday evening.
MUSCLE SHOALS POLICE:
Muscle Shoals residents we know your power is out if you have already called. Everyone at the electric dept street dept police and fire are working as fast was we can to restore power get trees cleaned up so power can come back on. There is a lot of power poles down tree debris with power lines in it. We know some power has been off for hours but everyone is working as fast as they can.
