Virgil “Wayne” Knighten – Obituary

Funeral service for Virgil “Wayne” Knighten, 73, will be Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Cotaco Methodist Church with Bro. John Smith officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Valhermoso Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 7, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mr. Knighten died on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Huntsville Hospital. He was born February 8, 1942, in Morgan County to Virgil “Mutt” Knighten and Jessie Inez Lennox Knighten. He was a member of the Cotaco United Methodist Church and was employed in Quality Control for PPG Industries prior to his retirement. He was an avid Alabama Fan and loved to fish. He was part of the “Jack’s” crowd at Somerville. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister: Mary Jo Jennings.

Pallbearers will be Casey Knighten, Timmy Jennings, Jacky Huskey, J.S. Ivey, Steve Cooper, and Mark Mayes.
