Mary Nell Lindsey Atwell, age 73, of Muscle Shoals, died Sunday, July 5, 2015. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, July 7, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., at the First Baptist Church of Sheffield. The service will follow at 3:00 p.m., with Dr. Robert F. Atwell III and Chad Holder officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Sheffield.
Mrs. Atwell was a native of Sheffield, and was a retired legal secretary. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sheffield, and Friends of the Sheffield Library. Preceding Mrs. Atwell in death are her parents, Nelson and Mary Lindsey, and grandson, Sam Atwell.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Robert F. “Bob” Atwell Jr.; children, Selina Atwell Pearson (Kenny), Robert F. Atwell III (Sylvia), Joanna Atwell Hardwick (James); grandchildren, Laura Pearson Skinner (Evan), David Martin Pearson (Jeannie), Robert F. Atwell IV (Lauren), Ana Lea Atwell, James Mason Hardwick, Matthew McCuin Hardwick, Robert Maclain Hardwick; great grandchildren, Isabell Ann Uhlman and Abigail Rene Pearson; and sisters, Linda Williamson (Roger) and Mae Lindsey.
Pallbearers include grandsons, David Pearson, Robert F. Atwell IV, Mason Hardwick, Matthew Hardwick, Maclain Hardwick, and nephew, Wes Gamble.
