Jimmy Jones Waddell, 73, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at his residence. He was a graduate of Lauderdale County High School, a veteran of the United States Army, and a graduate of National Harwood Lumber Association Inspector Training School.
He attended Rogersville United Methodist Church and was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Visitation will be today from 5-7 p.m. at Rogersville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 27, at 10 a.m. at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Gary Cosby, Robert Lancaster, and Pat Driskell officiating. Burial will follow in Civitan Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Heath Waddell, Jonathan Underwood, Derrick Underwood, Damon Underwood, Devon Underwood, Jonathan Newton, Mike Russell, Rob Cosby, Lynn Cosby, Ricky Hamm, and Tyler Hamm. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Mitchell, Jackie Ferguson, Ray Hester, Jerry Conner, Jerry Garner, Joe Ferguson, and James Irvin .
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Helon and Opal Waddell, and great-nephew, Reece Cosby.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Underwood Waddell; son, Heath (Kelley) Waddell; granddaughter, Haddie Waddell; sisters, Cora Sue (Gary) Cosby and Bitsy Waddell; stepsons, Jonathan (Alisha) Underwood and Derrick (Page) Underwood; stepgrandchildren, Damon, Devon, Chylsea, Grace Anne, and Olivia Underwood; and stepgreat-grandchildren, Alydia Underwood.
