Funeral for Charles “Charlie” Edward Banks, 83, of Trinity will be today, June 10, 2015, at 3 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with the Reverend Marcus Lipsomb officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Banks, who died Monday, June 8, 2015, at his daughter’s residence, was born August 3, 1931, in Flint to Wendell Albert Banks and Margaret Maggie Myers Banks. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a small business owner. Charlie loved trains, animals and repairing bikes for needy children. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wendell Banks; and sister, Marcie Dean Banks.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Richards; one son, Charles Larry Banks and wife, Donna; one daughter, Melanie Banks da Silva and husband, Tony; four grandchildren, Nathan Banks, Jeannie Banks, Katie Harris and Michael Ford; three great-grandchildren, Michaela Harris, Kaitlyn Harris and Ashlyn Carpenter; one sister, Mary Fay Hovater; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Banks, Hunter Brower, Wesley Tyler, Austin Wells, Tony da Silva, Rick Banks, Jerry Hogeland and Rahn Hogeland.
