Wilma Stokes, age 91, of Muscle Shoals, Al, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2015.Visitation will be Saturday, June 6, 2015 from 11:00 A.M.- 1:00 P.M with the funeral service to begin at 1:00 P.M. in our chapel, with burial to follow in Colbert Memorial Gardens. Pastor Tom Roberts will be officiating. Colbert Memorial Chapel is assisting the family.
She was preceded in death by husband; Charlie D. Stokes, brother: Gayron Seale, sisters: Elsie Seale and Barbara Seale.
Survivors are son; James Allen “Jimmy” Stokes (JoAnn) of Muscle Shoals, daughters: Caroline Jane James ( Dan ) of Florence, Peggy Marie Copeland ( Danny ) of Florence, brother ; Authur Seale of Slidell, LA, grandchildren; Tina McDaniel ( Jason ), Melissa Holder ( Toby ), Danielle Aston (Jeff ), Shelley Mahaffey ( Jason ) and Tara Barber ( Karl ). Great –grandchildren; Brittney, Tyler, Ashton, Justus, Webb, Madison and Will; and beloved nephew, Vernon Holcomb, Pontotoc, MS.
Pallbearers will be Jason Mahaffey, Jason McDaniel, Toby Holder, Jeff Aston, Jerry Smith, Jason Smith, Karl Barber and Irl Parks.
Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. Ronald McCoy, Chester Walls, Billy Smith and her great – grandsons.
Jane a homemaker, which is a very noble profession, and a special “Mawmaw” to many, especially Kadie Crowell. She was a faithful member of First Assembly of God of Muscle Shoals, Al.
Special thanks to Southern Care Hospice especially her nurses and special angel Fran Williams, Dr. Ronald McCoy for his loving care, Paula Blankenship for her many cards, Tara Barber and all the grandchildren for their sacrifices to be with our mother during her illness, and to her many friends for caring for her.
