Funeral for Homer Earl Nix, age 98, will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at Lawrence Funeral Home Chapel with Robert Winters officiating. Burial will be at Union Hill Cemetery. Visitation is Monday, June 1, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Nix, who died May 29, 2015, at NHC Healthcare, was born November 17, 1916, in Franklin County to John Bryant Nix and Addie Seay Nix. He was a self employed carpenter and was a member of Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church. He was a World War II Army veteran. Mr. Nix was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Myrtle Warren Nix; parents; grandson, Adam Wayne Nix; brother, Irvin Nix; and sister, Helen Long.
Survivors include sons, Wayne Nix (Angela), of Decatur, McGlennis Nix (Glenda) and Randall Nix (Beverly), both of Moulton; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sister, Matteline Long, of South Carolina.
Pallbearers will be Willard Warren, Scott Nix, Dwayne Flake, Lucas Bendall, Todd Powers, and Roger Nix.
