Mr. Carl Loyd Hudson of Athens passed away Monday May 25th, 2015 at his residence. He was born May 11, 1930 in Limestone County Alabama to Thomas and Lorna Cox Hudson.
Services will be Thursday May 28th, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Freddie Richter, Tony Hudson, and Jeff Smith officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday May 27th, 2015 from 3:00PM- 6:00PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Athens City Cemetery.
Mr. Hudson is preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Lorna Hudson and his loving wife Betty Hudson. One son Randall Carl Hudson and two brothers T.A. Hudson and J.W. Hudson.
He is survived by his daughter Vicki Hudson Stringer (Steve) of Athens, AL. His son Rodney Scott Hudson (Paula) of Harvest, five grandchildren Amy Stringer Dewberry (Marty) of Tennessee, Jonathan Hudson (Kelly) of Athens, Tiffany Stringer of Athens, Tyler Hudson of Harvest, and Jordan Hudson of Harvest. One great granddaughter Elena Rose Hudson of Athens, daughter in law Karen Hudson of Athens and brother Bobby Ray Hudson ( Margaret) of Athens. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Loyd was a member of the 1343 Engineer Combat Battalion during the Korean War. He was a member of Eastside Church of Christ and retired from Monsanto Chemical Company.
Pallbearers will be Marty Dewberry, Jonathan Hudson, Jordan Hudson, Tim Hudson, Tyler Hudson, and Kent Hudson. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Stringer, Joe Crawford and Tony Hudson.
