Edward A. Garvie, 58, of Huntsville passed away Friday. Eddie was the beloved son of Don and Loretto Garvie. The family would like to thank all the people who have cared for and worked with Eddie at the ARC of Madison County, The Volunteers of America Southeast and his fellow residents for their support and friendship through the years. He was preceded in death by his brother, Willie Don Garvie, Jr.

Survivors include his father, Willie D. Garvie of Huntsville; mother, Loretto A. Garvie of Huntsville; sisters, Mary Garvie Weber (Jim) of Milton, GA, Elizabeth Garvie White (Randy) of Nashville, TN, and Loretto Garvie Gentry (Joe) of Houston, TX; nieces, Jennifer and Kelly Weber, Lauren Withrow and Amanda Gentry; nephews, Christopher and Stephen White, and Charles and Winston Gentry; grand nephews, Murray William, Ezra, and Josiah Withrow; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be from 6pm to 7pm Sunday, May 17 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home with a wake immediately following at 7pm lead by Father Steve Wolf. The funeral mass will be at 10am Monday, May 18 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Father Michael MacMahon and Father Steve Wolf officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Volunteers of America Southeast, 600 Azalea Road, Mobile, AL 36609, or to the ARC of Madison County, Inc., 1100 Washington St. Huntsville, AL 35801.
