Mary Lee Kennedy was born August 26, 1934 to parents Robert Smith and Kathleen VanCleave. She went home to be with the Lord May 9, 2015. Visitation with family will be Saturday May 16, 2015 from 10-11 a.m. at Rogersville Funeral Home. A celebration of life will follow in the chapel with Jeff Henderson, grandson, officiating. She is survived by daughters Kathy Gautney (James), Cindy Kern (family friend, Frankie Himes); sons, Allen Dale Kennedy, and Tommy (Lisa) Kennedy; Six grand-children, Pamela Gautney, Tonya Henderson, David Kern, Chris Gautney, Jairus Foust, Levi Kennedy; Five great-grandchildren, Willliam (Billy), Jonathan, Benjamin, Howie, and Laura; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years of marriage, JM Kennedy and brothers, Dan and Freeman Smith. The family would like to express thanks to Gentiva Hospice and special caregiver, Pamela Gautney, her granddaughter. Rogersville Funeral Home is directing.
