Audrey Lee Hawkins (formerly Smith) Gowing, died peacefully on May 8, 2015, in Chapel Hill, NC, following a long struggle with dementia and a brief physical illness. She was 93.
She was married to Waynesboro pediatrician, the late William C. (“Dr. Bill”) Smith and the late N. Howard Gowing, also of Waynesboro.
There will be a private graveside service on May 13 at Augusta Memorial Park. A public memorial service will be held on a date to be announced later.
