Funeral service for Jewell Dean Puckett, 81, of Decatur will be today, May 5, 2015, at 1 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Orville Collins and A. Ray Lee officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Puckett died Sunday, May 3, 2015, at her residence. She was born May 29, 1933, to Charlie Lee Johnson and Bessie Jacobs Johnson Hogeland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert J. Puckett; son, Michael Lee Puckett; sisters, Betty Jean Seamons and Louise Higdon; brother, Charlie Ray Johnson; and her parents, all of Decatur.
Mrs. Puckett was a charter member of Oak Park Baptist Church and later attended Southside Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother. She was also a charter member of Rochetta Sunshine Club. She loved her many friends, neighbors and family and enjoyed 56 years of marriage to her husband, Hubert Puckett, until his death May 20, 2006.
Survivors include two sons, Myron Puckett and Steve Puckett (Vickie), all of Decatur; one sister, Carolyn Hanners (Brandon) of Hartselle; one brother, Johnny Johnson of Decatur; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
