Gladys Mae Jones, age 87, formerly of Killen, Alabama, passed away March 30, 2015. Visitation will be today from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Killen Church of Christ. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the church with Stan Dean officiating. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Jones was an active member of the Killen Church of Christ. She and her husband, Villard, were tireless volunteers at the church and on church missions throughout the south. She worked in the Mars Hill Bible School cafeteria for 12 years. She loved gardening and traveling. She especially loved visiting the Smoky Mountains.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Villard, her parents, Herman and Clara Peck, and her siblings, Mattie Martin, Albert Peck, Buford Peck, Ruth Davis, and Marie Mobley.
She is survived by her daughters, Marjorie Ezell (Chipper) and Wanda Jones; grandchildren, Morgan Holt (Dean), Jordan Ezell, and Brandon Kimbrough (Ashley); and great-grandchildren, Emmersen, Clara, and Canaan Holt and Hadleigh and Brooks Kimbrough.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Davis, Jimmy Davis, Jerry Mitchell, Kerry Peck, Travis Rushing, and Manson Behel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Killen Church of Christ in memory of Villard and Gladys Jones.
