Louie Lindsey Hargett – Obituary

louisLouie Lindsey Hargett, 92, of Walker, West Virginia, passed away March 30, 2015, at Genesis Marietta Center in Marietta, Ohio. He was born Feb. 9, 1923, in Belle Green, Alabama a son of the late Elmer James Hargett and Lula Mae (Brown) Hargett.

Mr. Hargett retired from Kaiser Aluminum in Ravenswood, West Virginia as an assistant mill operator and was a long-time member or the church of Christ. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in France and Germany. Louie was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and gardening and spending time with his special dog, Nanette.

Surviving are his son, Ronald Gary Hargett and his wife, Brenda, of Walker, West Virginia; three grandsons, Benjamin Sandy, of Vienna, West Virginia, Matthew Sandy, of Huntington, West Virginia, and Todd Hargett, of Parkersburg, West Virginia; and a great-granddaughter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Francis (Blount) Hargett in 2009, and six siblings, Glenn Hargett, Ruby Browning, Richard Hargett, Pauline Hargett, Hilmer Hargett, and Ira Mae Cabiness.

There will be no visitation or funeral. Graveside committal services will be Friday, 11 a.m., at the Harris Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Barton, Alabama.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg, West Virginia and Morrison Funeral Home in Tuscumbia, Alabama.
