Harry Jerome Slayton, 81 of Ardmore, Tennessee died on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at Crestwood Medical Center in Huntsville, Alabama.
Born Thursday, July 13, 1933 in Fayetteville, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Everette Eugene Slayton and the late Ora Mae Ashworth Slayton. He was a member of Bethleham Baptist Church and loved raising cattle and farming, He was a Veteran of the US Air Force during the Korean era. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers: Ray, Jim, Donald, Leslie, and Lonnie Slayton.
Surviving are his wife: Anita Smith Slayton of Ardmore, TN, sons, Dwayne Slayton of Valparaiso, IN and Stephen Slayton of Ontario, OH, brothers, Chester Slayton of Fayetteville, TN, David Slayton of Hammond, IN, Danny Slayton of Fayetteville, TN and Ricky Slayton of Fayetteville, TN, sisters, Sherry Cloud of Clouds Cove, AL, Vivian Crane of Madison, AL, Linda Gale Slayton of Elora, TN, Evie Slayton of Elora, TN, Violet Slayton of Elora, TN and Chris Slayton of Elora, TN, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 30, 2015, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Bro. Lon Ostrzycki officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, March 29, 2015, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama.
