John L. Balentine Jr., 86, of Florence, passed away March 10, 2015, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, at the Countryside Healthcare and Rehab.He established Balentine Electric in 1963, was a member of Muscle Shoals Home Builder’s Association for over 40 years, a member of Cross Point Church of Christ, and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Visitation will be Friday, March 13, 2015, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with J.T. Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Balentine was preceded in death by his parents, John Leonard Balentine Sr. and Louise Morrison Balentine, and son, Gary Balentine.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Katherine Balentine, of Florence; daughter, Linda Ford (Michael), of Decatur; son, Randy Balentine (Lisa), of Florence; daughter, Lisa Balentine, of Killen; stepgranddaughter, Jennifer Drake (Peter); grandchildren, Jon Hargrove, Daniel Hargrove, Lori Williams, Will Thigpen, Ashley Haynes, and Chris Balentine; and nine great-grandchildren.
