barbaraBarbara Ann Roach Robertson, 77, went home to be with the Lord during the early morning hours of March 7, 2015 after a long struggle with poor health. Her devotion to her family and her deep faith in God supported her in her struggle and she passed from this earth at home in peace in the company of her beloved husband and sons.
Barbara was born to the late George and Lucille Roach in Scottsboro, AL on November 25, Thanksgiving Day, 1937 and was raised in Huntsville. She graduated from Huntsville High School, Class of 1957, and worked for a time in the Rose Jewellery Store owned by the late Milton Frank.
Barbara was blessed with a large and loving family. She married Sedley James Robertson, on April 23, 1960 in Huntsville. She raised her two boys in a household full of laughter and love and music. From the very beginning, she dedicated her boys to God and encouraged them to develop their own relationships with Christ Jesus.
Throughout her long struggles with ill health she fought the good fight, completed her course, and her faith never wavered. She will be deeply missed by her family, who are comforted that she is now at peace and singing with the angels in Glory.
Barbara is survived by her husband, James of Huntsville; her sons Mark (Nancy) of Atlanta, and Jeff (Sandi) of Oak Ridge, TN; her grandchildren Heidi Koelle of Prague, Czech Republic, Emily Koelle of Auburn, AL, and Brian Robertson of Oak Ridge, TN; her sisters, Sue Blass (Joseph) of Jackson, TN, and Josephine Gurley of Birmingham, AL. She is preceded in death by her brother, George Roach Jr.; and her parents.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. at Laughlin Service Chapel with the Reverend Tim Lanier officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
