Jerry Wayne Godsey, 66 of Haleyville, entered into rest Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Princeton Baptist Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Godsey was born on November 24, 1948. Jerry loved spending time with his grandchildren and fishing. He enjoyed talking to everyone and never met a stranger.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2015 from 1-2pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where services will be held at 2pm. Speakers Steve and Keith Tidwell will officiate. Burial will follow in Frost Chapel Cemetery.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Barbara Godsey; sons, Eddie Godsey and wife, Lisa, Jeremy Godsey and wife, Ellen; daughters, Sandy Holcomb and friend, Tom Hunter, Angela Haremaker and husband, Rodney; sisters, Ruby McCroy, Edith Barton and husband, Robert, Nellie Alexander and Loretta Whitman. He was “Pawpaw” to nine grandchildren, Benjamin Godsey, Dylan Smith, Blane Godsey, Gavin Godsey, Logan Gosey, Nina Brannon, Jordan Holcomb, Jackson Holcomb, Ciara Cowens, and two great grandchildren, Kanesha Flanagin and Kylie Brannon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Martha Godsey, five brothers and two sisters.
