Chief Master Sgt. Edward R. Ori, United States Air Force, age 57, of Arley, AL, died on Thursday February 26, 2015.
Chief Ori dedicated his military career to the service of the United States of America and to the care of Airmen. He entered the Air Force on 18 October 1976, serving with distinction and retiring with honors on 18 March 1999. Chief Ori served at the highest non -commissioned officer positions for both the 4404th Civil Engineer Squadron and the 78th Civil Engineer Group, supporting the most strategically valued missions. His decorations include four Meritorious Services Medals, the National Defense Medal, multiple Campaign and Expeditionary medals, and numerous other awards and accolades for his exemplary service. Chief Ori set the example for others to follow and his leadership and dedication is still felt throughout the commands he served. Chief Ori is preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Boyd Ori.
Chief Ori is survived by his wife, Diane Ori; his daughters, Amanda Stanfield and husband Zachariah, and Danielle Ori; his Father, Charles Ori; his brother Charlie Ori; his sisters, Nancy Martin, Debbie Losik, and Patti Euliano; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be on Saturday February 28, 2015 at 10 am in the chapel of Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville with Pastor John Dees officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on that day from 9am until 10am at the funeral home.
