JackBerlin Jackson “Jack” Robbins Jr., 65, of Huntsville, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2015.

Jack was born in Tupelo, MS to Berlin Jackson Sr. and Hazel Macmahan Robbins. He was a beloved local musician, educator, businessman, and father. He was a ’67 graduate of Butler High School and ’72 graduate of the University of Tennessee and the “Pride of the Southland” Marching Band. He was an integral member of several Huntsville area bands throughout his lifetime, most notably “The Tiks”, “Pieces of Eight”, “Brotherhood”, and “Time Machine”. As the second generation owner and operator of Robbins Music Center, Inc., Jack was an active supporter of local musicians, early music education, and school band programs throughout North Alabama. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Huntsville.

Mr. Robbins is survived by his wife, Carey Angelyn “Angie” Robbins of Huntsville; sister, Nancy Robinson (Harold) of Auburn; son, William Alan Potter (Misti) of Dallas, TX; son, Berlin Jackson Robbins III “Jay” of Atlanta, GA; son, John Michael Robbins “Mick” (Katherine) of Atlanta, and Daughter, Elizabeth Ann Robbins Dyer (Gregory) of Birmingham; nephew Bruce Robinson of Auburn; niece, Lindsey Robinson of Auburn; and two grandchildren, Nathan and Jackson Potter.

Visitations will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Tuesday, February 24 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home with funeral services immediately to follow in the chapel. A private graveside service will be held at Glenwood Cemetery in Tupelo, MS on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Huntsville Hospital Foundation, your local music and arts council, or your local school band program.
