John Thomas Uptain, 76, Russellville, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015, at Russellville Hospital.
He lived most of his life in Franklin County and was a member of Bethsaida Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville. Funeral services will be Monday, 11 a.m., in the funeral home chapel with Tony Gasaway officiating.
Survivors include children, Thelon Uptain and wife, Angie, John Uptain and wife, Trina, Joel Uptain and wife, Tammy, and Roy Uptain; sisters, Helen Underwood and husband, Tom, and Sharon Copeland; brothers, Leroy Junior Uptain and wife, Rose, and Martin Uptain; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents, Leroy and Lillian Uptain, brother, Troy Uptain, and sister, Earline Copeland.
Pinkard Funeral Home will be directing.
