Funeral service for Walter “Gene” Cole age 67 of Decatur will be Sunday, February 15, 2015 at 3:30pm at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Charlie Brown officiating with burial in the Salem Methodist Church Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Cole, who was born on April 1, 1947 in Morgan County to Oakley A. Cole and Ella Evelyn Poole Cole, died on Saturday, February 14, 2015 in Decatur. He was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church, an avid Alabama football fan and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother; William Henry Cole.
He is survived by two daughters; Beth Standridge (Josh) of Decatur and Melissa Cole of Bowling Green, KY., four brothers; Charles A. Cole, Oakley Lamar Cole and Phillip Anthony Cole all of Decatur and Mark Steven Cole of Hartselle.
Josh Standridge, Lamar Cole, Keith Bradley, Wesley Vandiver and Kenneth Standridge will serve as pallbearers.
