Willie “Gee”Brown – Obituary

Reynolds Funeral Home announces with deepest sympathy the passing of Mr. Willie “Gee”Brown, 51 of Decatur, Alabama. Mr. Brown died February 9, 2015 at Huntsville Hospital. Funeral service will be Saturday, 11:00 a.m., February 14, 2015 at King’s Memorial U. M. Church, with Minister Rodney Gordon officiating and interment at Sterrs Cemetery. Family Visitation will be Friday evening 6:00 – 7:00 p.m at the funeral home.

Willie Fitzgerald Brown-Gordon was born on November 27, 1963 on Thanksgiving Day. He was the son of the late Bobby Gordon and Dorothy Brown Gordon. He departed his life on Monday Morning, February 9, 2015

Willie confessed hope in Christ at an early age and united with the St. Stephens P. B. Church under Pastor Eugene Lewis. He attended Austin High School. “Gee” was a fun, loving person who was loved by many. But, no one took the place of his brother Rodney Gordon. They were like two peas in a pot.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Gordon, his brother, Anthony Brown, and his grandparents, The Rev. Willie and Mable Brown and Maggie Bankston.

Willie “Gee” leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Helena Brown; a loving and devoted mother, Dorothy Gordon; four sons, Lancaster Lewis, Juawn Brown, Jaquan Lewis and ToVae Lewis; a daughter, Quida, whom he loved dearly and totally depended on; He was custodial dad for his three grandchildren; DeShawn Lewis, Landon Lewis and Zion Lewis. two sisters, Erica (Billy) Allen, Bridgette; god sister, Jacqueline Matthews; brothers, Bobby Gordon, New Jersey City, NJ, Cedric Brown, The Rev. Rodney Gordon (Tara), Jose Gordon all of Decatur; aunts, Evelyn Pickett of Cleveland, OH, Doris Brown of Kansas, Bertha (John) Soil, Katherine Hayes of Kansas City, Essie Love of Decatur and Pat Webb of Courtland; god-mother Vergil Aldridge, god-aunt, Pearl Elliott of Decatur; two uncles, Julius (Leshia) Brown of Birmingham, AL and Leo (Mary) Gray of Decatur; god-uncle, Floyd Jones of Decatur; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
