Funeral for Virgil James Sandlin, 91, of Moulton will be Thursday, February 12, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Liberty United Methodist Church with Charles Canterbury and Dr. Carl Evans officiating and Parkway Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Liberty United Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Sandlin, who died Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at Cypress Cove Center, was born June 2, 1923, in Lawrence County to Charlie L. Sandlin and Celia A. Sandlin. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of Liberty United Methodist Church. His hobbies were cattle and horse sales. His wife, Mae Wallace Sandlin, preceded him in death.
Survivors include three sons, Dwight (Dorothy) Sandlin, Glen (Margie) Sandlin and Raymond (Denice) Sandlin; seven grandchildren, Monica Ellis, Sonja Warren, Tim Sandlin, Cindy Sandlin, Mindy Sandlin, Steve Sandlin and Misty Bolan; five stepgrandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 14 stepgreat-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and two stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Scott Ellis, Luke Ellis, Eric Warren, Cody Warren, Steve Sandlin, Levi Sandlin, Tim Sandlin, Matt Lowery and Robin Sandlin.
