Mr. James “Jim” Wesley Pendley, 88, of Rogersville, passed away Friday, Feb. 6, 2015. Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015, from noon-2 p.m. at Elkins East Chapel. Service will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel, with Andy Erwin officiating. Burial will be in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Pallbears will be family and friends.
Mr. Pendley was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Christeen Pendley.
He is survived by his children, Ricky Pendley and wife, Elizabeth, of Valley Grande, Alabama, Cynthia George and husband, Dennis, of Alvaton, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Caleb George, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Hannah King (Kyle), of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Amy Clements (Jamie), of Memphis, Tennessee; two great-grandchildren, Eli and Jacob Clements.
James “Jim” was a member of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ, of Killen. He was a World War II veteran and served as commander of American Legion Post No. 11, of Florence. He retired from Reynolds Metal as a research chemist. Jim enjoyed farming.
