ATHENS-Meet the perfect couple on Valentine’s Day in downtown Athens.
One is attractive to the sweet tooth and the other is attractive to the wallet.
Chocolate and sweet deals combine on Saturday, February 14, for the annual Spirit of Athens Chocolate Walk. Participating downtown merchants will tempt ticket holders with delectable chocolate treats and Valentine’s Day shopping specials.
“Chocolate lovers will enjoy peppermint hot chocolate, brownie sundaes, chocolate chip cookies and more,” Spirit of Athens Director Trisha Black said.
The event is from noon to 5 p.m. Tickets are $5 and are available at www.eventbrite.com under “Chocolate Walk 2015.” There are a limited number of tickets.
“A Saturday stroll around our downtown area as you savor chocolate treats and shop is an ideal way to spend Valentine’s Day,” Black said. “You can address your chocolate cravings and shop for yourself or that special someone.”
Ticket holders will check in at the Spirit of Athens office at 107 N. Jefferson Street after 11 a.m. to receive a list of participating businesses and a goody bag. Those who visit each business can turn in a form to be entered to win one of five Love Bucks worth $25. Love 
Bucks can be redeemed at one of the participating businesses.
