DECATUR-In June of 2014 the Decatur Police received a report that a female under the age of 12 was sexually assaulted. An arrest has been made in this case. Here is What the Decatur Police has to say about the arrest of one man:
“SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:
On June 23, 2014 a report was filed with the Decatur Police Department that Jorge Alexander Medina sexually abused a female less than 12 years of age. A joint investigation was conducted by the Decatur Police Department Violent Crimes Unit, Morgan County DHR, and the Morgan County Child Advocacy Center about the allegations.
After the allegations were made, Medina fled the area.
On December 11, 2014 Det. Joshua Fisher obtained an arrest warrant for Jorge Medina for Sexual Abuse of a Child Less than 12 years old, a Class B Felony.
On January 16, 2015 Jorge Medina was captured by the US Marshals Service in Virginia.
Jorge was extradited to Decatur. He was then charged and booked on the charge of Sexual Abuse of a Child Less than 12 years old.
Jorge was transferred to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $200,000.00 dollar bond set by Morgan County Circuit Judge Glenn Thompson.”
