Groundhog Day in The Shoals… Mockingbirds can cause problems

THE SHOALS – It was pretty evident this morning down by the river… The Shoals’ groundhog mascot, Swamper Sam, was not going to see his shadow. The sun was hidden behind a dense cloud cover. And so, he sauntered out of the underbrush to catch a breath of fresh air.

Everything was going pretty good for Sam… Well until the doggone mockingbird showed up.

Seems that Mr. Mockingbird was happy with the weather just the way it is. So he mounted an airborne assault on the hapless Sam and sent him packing back into the woods.

So much for an early Spring.
