Dorothy-Foutch-1422786593Dorothy Mae (Dot) Benson Foutch passed away on Friday, January 30, 2015, at the age of 84 at Barfield Health Care in Guntersville after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Dot portrayed many roles in her life. She was part of the “Mo and Dot” love story for 64 years of marriage. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She taught 2nd and 3rd grades at New Sharon and Harvest schools in Madison County. She worked at Chrysler for a number of years, until leaving to help with their business, Huntsville Blueprint before retiring. Dot loved Alabama Football, all of her family and friends, and the serenity of the Guntersville Lake.

Dot is preceded in death by her parents, Garland and Hazel Benson, and a brother Bryson Benson. She is survived by her husband Wiley E. (Mo) Foutch of Huntsville, 3 brothers, Rayford Benson, Bryant Benson (Billie Jean) of Guntersville, and Charlie Benson (Linda) of Sylvania, 2 sons, Ben E. Foutch (Melony) of Decatur and Wiley D. Foutch (Angie) of Scottsboro, 8 grandchildren and 14 great Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The visitation and memorial will be held at Carr Funeral Home in Guntersville, Alabama. The visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. February 2, 2015 Monday with the funeral immediately following at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The burial will be in Preston Cemetery. The family would like to say a special thank you to Barfield Healthcare for taking great care of grannie. We couldn’t have asked for more.
