charlieCharles “Charlie” Henry Collier, Jr. age 53 of Athens passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015. Mr. Collier was born March 9, 1961 in Madison County, AL to Charles “Pete” Henry Collier, Sr. and Geraldine Siniard Collier.

Services will be Sunday, January 25, 2015 2:00 p.m., at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Mike Blakely and Capt. McNatt officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, January 24, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Mr. Collier was in the Sheriff’s Department since 1986; Lt. since 2003. He was a member of the Limestone County Rescue Squad where he served over 20 years and was Captain from 1990 – 2002 and a member of Greenbrier Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by his father, Charles “Pete” Collier, Sr.; grandparents, Kenneth and Hazel Kirkwood and Leonard and Lavator Siniard; his loving dogs, Chrissy and Q-tip.

Survived by his wife, Myra H. Collier; step-daughter, Amy Hinkle Norwood, mother, Geraldine Collier; sister, Karen Collier; his loving dogs, Bo and Rascal.

Pallbearers will be Bobby McCormick, Marty Bates, Jeff Grisham, Jay Stinnett, Roy Brooks, Johnny McDonald, Jon Russell, and Fred Sloss. Honorary pallbearers will be all members of Limestone County Sheriff’s Department, Paul Schrimsher and Jay Godsey.
