Betty Self Mahaffey was born to Lewis and Ruth Sims on February 19, 1932. She passed away January 17, 2015 at her residence, she was 82.
She is preceded in death by her husband James I. (Buddy) Self and later husband Charles Mahaffey, two brothers Ralph and David Sims. Mrs. Mahaffey retired from Strickland Drugs after 43 years of service.
She will have a graveside service 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Hartselle Memory Gardens with Peck Funeral Home Directing. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home.
She is survived by her only son Ivan Self, Wife Anita, two granddaughters Karen Slaten, husband Todd and Jennifer WIlliams, husband Troy, five grandchildren, Madison Slaten, Lacy Slaten, Macie Williams, Georgia Williams, Brickston Williams and one sister, Rachel Ward.
