Wayne Earl Davis 80, of Athens,AL died Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation Center, Ardmore, Tennessee.
Born Friday, October 5, 1934 in Athens, AL, he was the son of the late Elmer William Davis and the late Florence Ruby Brown Davis. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Margaret. He was a lifelong resident of this area and a member of the Church of Christ. He enjoyed telling stories about his life in the US Army and about his granddaughter.
Surviving are: Sons: Wayne Earl Davis, Jr., Athens, AL, and Thomas Dewayne Davis and wife Amy, Athens, AL, Daughters: Sharon Stone Sandlin and husband Tim, Athens, AL, and Charlene Welch Williams, Cumberland, VA, Brother – Elmer Davis, Enterprise, AL, Sisters: Betty Welch, Farmville, VA, and Nellie Lockaby, Fort Worth, TX, 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Reunion Church of Christ, Athens, Alabama from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Reunion Church of Christ, Athens, AL, at 2:00 PM with Bro. Bill Irby officiating.
