Hazel J. Schrimsher, age 85, of Huntsville, died on Friday January 16, 2015.
Mrs. Schrimsher was retired as a Branch Manager for the Huntsville Times after 20 plus years of service. She was also a substitute teacher for Chapman Elementary School for 30 years. Mrs. Schrimsher is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Tom Schrimsher; her parents, Jack and Flavia Gray Hopkins; her brother, Bill Gayle Hopkins; and her sister, Sandra Bell.
Mrs. Schrimsher is survived by her sons, Wayne Schrimsher and wife Ann of Decatur, and Jeff Schrimsher and wife Jill of Hillsboro, NC; her sisters, Jeanine Warren of Huntsville, and Kay Wyley of Lincoln Co. TN; her grandchildren, Joy Parker and husband Denny of Decatur, and Stacey Schrimsher of Prattville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be on Monday January 19, 2015 at 2pm in the chapel of Spry Funeral home of Huntsville with Danny Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on that day from 12:30pm until 2pm at the funeral home.
