mcdowellNeal McDowell, 81, of Killen died Friday, January 2, 2015, at his residence after an extended illness.

Visitation will be Monday, January 5, 2015, at Elkins East Chapel from 5-6 PM.  A memorial service will follow at 6 PM in the Chapel.

Mr. McDowell graduated in Canton, North Carolina.  He was retired from Champion International Paper Mill.

Mr. McDowell was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan McDowell; parents, Lorian and Berta McDowell; daughter, Gail McDowell; son, Thomas McDowell; sister, Vivian Rhinehart; three brothers, Wayne, Ray, and Marvin McDowell; daughter-in-law, Trudy McDowell.

Mr. McDowell is survived by his wife, Sue McDowell; daughter, Rachel Askew (Clay); two sons, Steve McDowell and Jerry McDowell (Shirley); two step-sons, Brad Lovelady (Jill) and Brian Lovelady (Latasha); sister, Patricia Lowe (Lloyd); two brothers, Buddy McDowell (Marilyn) and Joe Bob McDowell (Nancy); nine grandchildren, April Glossep, Luke, Wheeler, Hayden, Callie, and Olivia Lovelady, Gina Crist, Christi Stilo, and Brandi Roberts; four great-grandchildren, Payton Brewer, Daniel Askew, Kaitlyn and Kelsey Clinard.

A one of a kind, great man, the love of my life, Sue.
