Mr. Forney Newton Weeks, age 89 of Meridianville, died Wednesday a Tut Fann Nursing Home. Mr. Weeks served in the Navy during WWII. After his service to his country, he met the love of his life, Ruth, who was 17 and he was 23 at the time. They left for Michigan with one suitcase between them to find work in 1948. Moved back to the family farm in Hazel Green in the late 50’s where they resided for over 50 years. He was a welder by trade, farmer & woodworking as hobbies. Mr. Weeks attended church at New Sharon Church of God then at First Church of God, Madison.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Ruth (Allen) Weeks, parents, Walter and Sally Weeks, and daughter, Janet Weeks Johnson.
Mr. Weeks is survived by two sons Michael Weeks, and wife Marjorie and William “Bill” Weeks, and wife Jeannette, brother, Clarence Weeks, 12 grand children, and 8 great-grandchildren
Arrangements are being handled by Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville, where the family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 PM Sunday. A service will be held Monday, January 05, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Maple Hill Cemetery with Pastor John Ramey officiating.
