Helen Frances Fersch – Obituary

Helen Frances Fersch, 91, of Huntsville, died Thursday. She was born in Davenport, IA and married Willard C. Fersch on Jul. 11, 1942. They moved from Davenport to Huntsville in 1960 where Mr. Fersch worked for NASA until 1977. Upon her husband’s retirement, they purchased an RV and proceeded to achieve their life’s goal to travel and visit all 50 states. They lived in Mesa, AZ for a number of years prior to returning to Huntsville. Mr. Fersch passed away on Aug. 15, 2004. Helen “Fran” Fersch continued her many friendships in Huntsville and enjoyed many activities, including a Red Hat Society club, singing in a choir, and in the last few years, her weekly “domino” group.

She is survived by a son Jeffrey M. Fersch and daughter-in-law, Mary B. Fersch of Huntsville; daughter, Linda D. Dunn of League City, TX; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Her niece, Jerri Etchason of La Conner, WA maintained a special relationship with her.

Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery with a private family service. Berryhill Funeral Home is assisting the family.
