Hilda Jean (Hembree) Reeder – Obituary

hildaFuneral service for Hilda Jean (Hembree) Reeder, age 80, of Decatur, will be Sunday, December 7, 2014, 2:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Allen Queen officiating. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to service. Interment will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.

Mrs. Reeder, who died Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at her residence, was born December 16, 1933, in Moulton, to James Henry Hembree and Thelma Viola Lindsey Hembree. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Chris Christian, two brothers, Jerry Hembree and Bobby Hembree, and one great-grandchild. Mrs. Reeder was a 1953 graduate of Speake High School, and a member of Bellview Baptist Church. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn Reeder of Decatur; two daughters, Jeannie Plemons (Chris) and Janet Bradford (Gary), both of Decatur; five brothers, Fred Hembree (Billie Irene), James Hembree (Margie), Billy Joe Hembree (Joyce), J. W. Hembree (Maxine), and Doug Hembree; one sister, Lola Hood; one sister-in-law, Faye Hembree; five grandchildren, Thomas Plemons (Christie), Chris Plemons (Angie), Kassie Plemons, Jessica Coan (Keith), and Drew Bradford; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces who meant the world to her.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to her wonderful and loving hospice nurse and caregiver, Gayle and Michelle.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to Bellview Baptist Church Building Fund.
