Donald O’Neal Hill Sr. (Donnie) died Monday, Dec. 1, 2014. Funeral services will be Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, at noon at First Missionary Baptist Church, Sheffield, Alabama, with Pastor Jeffrey Braxton Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Sheffield, Alabama. The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m.
Mr. Hill was a graduate of Sterling High School, a faithful member of First Missionary Baptist Church, Sheffield, Alabama, a retiree of Reynolds Metals and Wise Alloys, and an Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Hill, brother, Roland Hill, and father and mother-in-law, Travis and Ethel Thirlkill.
He leaves to cherish his memories a very devoted wife, Wanda Thirlkill; one daughter, Kimberly (Freddie Ingram), Madison, Alabama; two sons, Donald Hill Jr. and Marcus Hill, of Sheffield, Alabama; five sisters, Mary (Albert) Jarmon and Janice King, Muscle Shoals, Alabama, Carolyn (Willie) West, Florence, Alabama, Gloria Berry, Sheffield, Alabama, and Dorothy (Oscar) Moore, of Tracy, California; two sisters-in-law, Janice Johnson, Florence, Alabama, and Lucy Oates, Madison, Alabama; six grandchildren, JaMarcus Jones, Jasmine Hill, and Jaydon Hill, Madison, Alabama, A’Niya Hill, Daisha Graham, and O’Bresha Cooper, Muscle Shoals, Alabama; aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
