Marvin Leon Tucker – Obituary

Funeral service for Marvin Leon Tucker, age 77, of Decatur, will be Tuesday, December 2, 2014, 2:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Hayes officiating. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to service. Interment will be in Napps Cemetery.

Mr. Tucker, who died Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at his residence, was born August 31, 1937, in Decatur, to Grady Tucker and Wilma Belle Hitt Tucker. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Pearl Sparkman Tucker, and one son, Tony Tucker. Marvin was a member of the Mallard Camping Club. His “go to” saying was always, “Have paint gun, will travel.” He enjoyed painting cars and watching the Atlanta Braves.

He is survived by his granddaughter, Paige Tucker Brewer (Keith) of Decatur; two brothers, James Tucker and Marty Tucker, both of Moulton; and one great-grandchild, KeeLee Brewer of Decatur.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to the Mud Tavern Fire Department.
