Catherine Honey Miller of Huntsville died Monday. Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her parents, Joney Emmons Honey and Mary Ozella Damron Honey and her husband, Dr. James Willard Miller. She lived a long life of love, dedication and service. She graduated from Huntsville High School. She attended Florence State Teacher’s college and taught at Riverton Elementary School for 2 years. She married James Willard Miller, Sr., on November 24, 1949 and was widowed in 1979 after 30 years of marriage.

Mrs. Miller was a Sunday School teacher for more than 60 years, served on countless committees, and was a Deacon at First Baptist Church. She was active in the Women’s Missionary Union, Green Valley Garden Club, PTA, Huntsville Dental Auxiliary, and the Pilot Club of Huntsville. She worked in the dental office of her husband for 13 years, then at the Baptist Book Store and then as Pastor’s Assistant at First Baptist Church for 30 years. She retired at 83 years old, loving her job and loving her church.

She was a caring friend and co-worker to many. She loved her Sunday School friends in the Sunshine Class. But her best role was as Mother and Grandmother to her family, sharing love and a lot of food.
