Muriel Frances Jones Wilkins – Obituary

merleMuriel Frances Jones Wilkins, 85 of Addison, entered into rest on Saturday, November 22, 2014 in Cullman surrounded by her loving family.

Muriel was born on July 4, 1929 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She held many positions in the Addison Church of God, where she attended for the last forty years. She loved to cook, sew and crochet and had numerous awards for each. Muriel was a lifetime member of the Addison Rescue Squad and also graduated from millinery school.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 10am at Addison Church of God. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Pastor Rodney Ridgeway will officiate.

Muriel is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ellis Wilkins; sons, Jerry Teague and his wife Donna, James Wilkins and his wife Wanda; daughters, Virginia Tyree, Joyce Wilkins McLamb and her husband Gary, Julie Wilkins Key; step sons, Ronnie Wilkins, Ricky Wilkins and his wife Jennifer; step daughter, Mary Owens; brothers, Walter Jones, Cecil Jones and his wife Mary, Albert Jones and his wife Jean, Ronald Jones and his wife Cheryl, Donald Jones and his wife Brenda; sisters, Linda Jones, Laura Jones Alley and her husband Darrell, Cathy Padgett. She was grandmother to 25 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and a host of great, great and great, great, great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford J. Jones, Sr. and Laura B. Hughes Jones; grandson, Steven Owens; step son-in-law, Dave; brothers, Clifford Jones and Bill Jones.
