Steven Richard Hurd, 52, died Friday, November 21, 2014, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born February 24, 1962, to Nelson Richard Hurd and Juanita Jones Hurd. He was a member of the Boguefala Baptist Church in Mooreville. He was a supervisor at United Furniture in Amory. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid Ole Miss fan.
Services will be at 2 p. m. Monday, November 24, at the McNeece – Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. David Perry officiating. Burial will be in the Stephens Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy Hurd; his mother, Juanita Hurd; four sons, Steven Matthew Hurd (Lacy), Shawn Nelson Hurd (Cristy), Jeffrey Paul Hurd, and Chance Michael Hurd; one sister, Cathy Marcy (Danny), all of Mantachie; one brother, Brian Scott Hurd-Servin of Irvine, CA; five grandchildren, Haley Baxter, Tristen Hurd, Jacob Jaggers, Emily Jaggers, and Jodi Hurd.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Pallbearers will be Troy Thornton, David Reynolds, David Wallace, Darren Johnson, Chris Johnson, Brian Franks, and Dustin Brown.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p. m. Sunday, November 23, and from noon until service time Monday at McNeece – Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
