Travis R. Day, Sr., 79 of Owens Cross Roads, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at South Hampton Nursing Facility. Funeral Services will be at Hampton Cove Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at 2:00 pm with the Rev. Troy Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 22, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home. Mr. Day was a loving husband, father and grandfather that enjoyed spending time with his family. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and working alongside his wife; Barbara, in their many successful businesses. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of the Masonic Northern Lodge # 278 Mr. Day was preceded in death by his wife; Barbara P. Day. He is survived by his son; Travis R. Day, Jr. (Betty J), daughters: Barbara R. Pierce (Lonnie) and Lanelle D. Sams (Steve E), grandchildren; Barbara Benson, Chris Benson, Adam Day, Matthew Day, Mary Elizabeth Day, Melanie P. Smith, David Sams and Carolyn Sams, great-grandchildren; Elon Bush, Majesty Bush, Gionni Harris, Nathan Day, Micah Smith, Mason Day and Logan Head, brother; Clyde Day (Shirley) and a host of nieces and nephews.
