Joe William “Billy” Corbin Jr., 69, of Miramar Beach, Florida, passed away October 30, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Billy was born on September 7, 1945 to Joe W. and Doris Glover Corbin in Birmingham. He was a 1963 graduate of Decatur High School and attended Florence State College and Athens College. While still attending college, he worked in his family owned business, Decatur Refrigeration, started by his grandfather. In January of 1970, Billy married Teresa Alexander in their hometown of Decatur.

After he moved to Destin, in 1980, he got his contractor’s license and built custom homes. He truly enjoyed working with all of his clients and had a reputation as a great contractor. Billy enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved his family.

Billy is survived by his wife of 44 years, Teresa Alexander Corbin; and his sister, Vicki Corbin Grafe and her husband, Chip, of Lake Charles, LA; many friends and neighbors in the Emerald Bay community.

A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Destin, 154 Calhoun Ave., Destin, FL 32541 on Thursday, November 6, 2014, at 10 a.m. with Dr. Chris Perry officiating followed by a time of fellowship in the church’s Taylor Hall. Interment will be private in Destin Memorial Cemetery.
