Dr. Reginald Cedric Bedingfield, 84, passed away at Decatur Morgan Main Hospital on October 31, 2014. He was born in Decatur to Eugene and Olivia Bedingfield on April 18, 1930.
Dr. Bedingfield was one of nine children reared by a widowed mother, Osie Bedingfield in Limestone and Morgan counties. He graduated from Morgan County High School, and graduated from the University of North Alabama and the University Of Alabama School Of Dentistry. He served as an officer in the US Army before entering dental school. He was a faithful member of Grant Street Church of Christ.
Dr. Bedingfield entered the practice of dentistry in Decatur in 1960, and retired in 2012. While practicing he served on the Alabama Board of Dental Examiners two terms. He was a very generous man, supporting many friends and family.
Dr. Bedingfield is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen Poole Bedingfield; daughter, Amy Bedingfield Herman (Steve); numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, John David Bedingfield.
A celebration of life will be held Monday, November 3, 2014, at Roselawn Funeral Home at 1 p.m, with Bro. Alan Watkins officiating. Visitation will be noon until the time of service. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Frank A Spangler, Ted R. Poole, Jeremy Duncan, Andrew Duncan, Russ Poole and Frank Spangler, Jr.
Honorary pallbearer will be Dr. Felton Davenport
