Helen Jeanell (Meeks) Wright, 86, of Bridgewater, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014, at Emeritus Senior Living in Harrisonburg.

She was born in Corinth, Mississippi on Aug. 24, 1928, and was a daughter of the late Rhebon Clay and Lois Evelyn (Malone) Meeks.

Jeanell was a member of Bridgewater Church of the Brethren where she was in the Character Builders Circle and was an avid gardener, artist, and seamstress. She was a member of the Dayton American Legion Post No. 27 ladies auxiliary.

She was united in marriage on Feb. 7, 1954, in Sheffield, Alabama to Donald Ray Wright, who survives.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Neena Wright, of San Antonio, Texas, and Shaula Painter and husband, Rick, of Harrisonburg.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Clay Meeks.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Service in Bridgewater on Monday, Nov. 3, 2014.

Burial will be private.
